Festivals At Ski Vacation Destinations

Festivals At Ski Vacation DestinationsSki vacation destinations are frequented not only by individuals who plan to learn how to ski and snowboard and professional skiers who train for upcoming competitions. These vacation spots across Europe, America and Asia are also visited for the numerous snow sport festivals. The festivals are typically aimed at promoting the fun, adrenaline-fuelled world of snow sports and are noted to dramatically engage many enthusiasts from all continents.

The popularity of snow sports is growing at exponential levels - from the North Americas Rockies through the French and Austrian Alps and all the way to Japans Hokkaido Island. Nowadays, skiing, snowboarding and other snow sports are attracting many more traditional family holiday seekers as well as young enthusiasts.

One of the most anticipated snow sports festivals is called The Brits an annual event held at Tignes, France every March featuring the British snowboarding free-ski championships. This competition draws in a huge crowd of holiday makers from around the world to witness performances of some of the worlds leading talents. Others visit France for ski vacation packages that would allow them to enjoy the slopes in a range of activities. The Brits usually feature three snow parks to cater to different ski levels of its guests. It also offers a boarder-cross and a halfpipe for thrill-seeking freestylers. Other features include a wide array of restaurants and nightlife options so that guests have something to look forward to not only during the day but even at night.

The heartland of Austria is home to another leading festival dubbed Snowbombing a week-long event featuring pop musical artists. Tickets to this event start at 234 per person and include accommodations for five nights and a festival wristband. Snowbombing not only showcases performances for the fans of the music scene but also offers Ride N Seek competitions where some of the worlds leading skiers and snowboarders throw themselves down Penken Park.

Austria also hosts another festival called Top of the Mountain a gathering that features at least three concerts per season. Like Snowbombing, Top of the Mountain also offers an irresistible mix of music and snow sports. It also provides a variety of alternative events such as cross-country skiing, freeriding, and motorcycling. For families who are on ski trips, there are other picnic areas, ponds, and diverse wildlife.

A Japanese event called Sapporo Snow Festival features countless eye-catching snow sculptures. This annual festival in Japan offers a unique blend of art, creation and Japanese culture.
